Agilent ZORBAX StableBond (SB)-C8 uses high-performance silica made by chemically bonding a sterically-protected C8 stationary phase to special ZORBAX silica. The densely covered, sterically protected diisopropyl n-octylsilane stationary phase is chemically stable and gives longer column life, even for aggressive mobile phases (for example, pH < 2, high-ionic-strength, ion-pair additives, etc.)

Method Development Notes :

Start with 5% methanol or acetonitrile in water as the initial solvent, and 100% methanol or acetonitrile as the final solvent. We recommend adding 0.1% formic acid in both A and B bottles. This column can be used with 100% aqueous. For best consistent results, be sure to condition the column with 10 - 20 column volumes of mobile phase.
Working with LC/MS
: if using LC/MS, we recommend starting with 5 - 10 mM ammonium formate, ammonium acetate, ammonium hydroxide, 0.1% acetic acid or 0.1% formic acid. We recommend against using ammonium bicarbonate.
